Project PWS NWR 1913
The Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS) has awarded the contract to undertake an upgrade of the Echo Point Jetty at Lake St Clair.
The project will be undertaken by Tasmanian company, Hunter Diving and Marine Construction.
Works on the jetty, which is used to provide boat access for bush walkers and tourists exploring Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair and allow for PWS maintenance, will make the surface of the structure safer and improve the visitor experience at this picturesque location.
Echo Point is approximately mid-way between Narcissus and Cynthia Bay – the final day of the Overland Track following the edge of Lake St Clair. Access to the Overland Track will be maintained during the demolition and construction of the jetty.
The work is expected to start on 9th March and will be completed by the end of March 2021. The jetty will be closed for approximately three weeks while works take place.
