Jetties and wharves in Tasmania

Jetties and wharves are a key part of Tasmania’s maritime infrastructure, giving recreational boaters, commercial operators, fishers, and local communities access to the state’s waterways.

Across Tasmania, jetties and wharves support a wide range of recreational and commercial activities, including berthing vessel, passenger transport, fishing, loading and unloading goods, and access to waterfront facilities.

Marine and Safety Tasmania (MAST) manages and maintains a network of public marine facilities across the state. These facilities are designed to provide safe and practical access to Tasmania’s waterways while supporting the needs of a diverse range of users.

Before using a wharf or jetty, always be mindful of other waterway users, follow any signage or local rules, and take care when embarking or disembarking from vessels and launching and retrieving.

Find a jetty or wharf near you using MAST’s Facility Finder on our website.
