MAST has developed a web-based mooring and facilities mapping system that is now available for public use.

The map shows mooring positions and mooring permit numbers in the various bays and rivers where moorings have been allowed. By using your mouse you can zoom in or out and take a snapshot of an area.

The system also shows MAST managed navigations aids as well as those owned and maintained by TasPorts and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.

MAST has also included some marine farm corner marks. These marks are identified on the chart with a yellow triangle.

Choose between a topographic map or aerial imagery view and display either the mooring, navigation aid or marine farm marks.

Zoom into areas of interest using controls similar to google maps. To view details of navigations aids and marine farms, click on the information button to the top left of the display as well as the arrow button and click on the mark.

Details of navigation aid, including owner, structure type and light characteristics (if lit) will be displayed in the information panel. Click on the thumbnail photo to open an image of the aid.

Please be aware that many bays are now closed to new moorings.  If you are considering submitting an application for a new mooring permit, please contact MAST to enquire about specific mooring areas on 6235 8888 or admin@mast.tas.gov.au
