M201-26 River Derwent, Macquarie Wharf Berth 6 – Demolition and Construction Works – Prohibited Area

Mariners are advised that demolition and construction work on the redevelopment of Macquarie Wharf Berth 6 will commence on Monday, 1 June 2026

The works will involve the demolition of the existing berth and the construction of the new wharf structure. These works will be completed both on land and from the water by the construction barge Leanora.

A waterside prohibited area surrounding the construction site will commence at 0700 hours on Monday, 1 June 2026, and will remain in place until the construction work is completed and MAST issues a subsequent notice declaring the prohibited area cancelled. The prohibited area is within the waters bound by the following coordinates.

The prohibited area will be demarcated by 7 yellow-lit special marks. All vessels and persons are prohibited from navigating within the prohibited area, unless authorised by Hobart VTS.

Regulation 71 of the Marine and Safety (Pilotage and Navigation) Regulations 2017 provides for the declaration of a specified area to be a prohibited area for other vessels or persons.
