M399-26 River Tamar, Beauty Point – Autonomous Underwater Vehicles Deployment

Mariners are advised that Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) will be operating in the River Tamar, in the vicinity of the AMC Jetty, Middle Bank and Beauty Point, from Tuesday, 10 November to Friday, 13 November 2026, between 0800 and 1700 hours daily.

The AUVs will conduct a series of manoeuvres below the water surface within the deployment area and may surface unexpectedly. Vessels approaching the operating area may be contacted on VHF Channel 16 and requested to alter course where there is a risk of collision.

The support vessels Reviresco, NAIAD and AMSL1 will be on site throughout the operations to monitor vessel movements and assist with the safe recovery of AUVs as required. Code Flag Alpha will be displayed in the vicinity of AUV operations.

Four seabed landers will also be deployed from the afternoon of Tuesday, 10 November to the afternoon of Friday, 13 November 2026. Each lander will be marked by a red inflatable surface buoy, connected to the lander by a ground line approximately 50 metres in length along the seabed. The buoys will be positioned outside the navigation channel.

Mariners are requested to navigate with caution in the area, maintain a safe distance from the AUV operations and associated equipment, and avoid anchoring in the vicinity of the deployed landers.
