M340-26 Storm Bay – Autonomous Vessel Operations
Mariners are advised that a 7 metre sailing Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) is being deployed in Storm Bay, offshore from Bruny Island, on 20 September 2026.
The USV will be towed out to the centre of Storm Bay before being released, with the exact release location depending on conditions on the day. Once released, the USV will proceed out of Storm Bay to commence operations in the Southern Ocean.
Mariners are advised to navigate with caution in the area.
