Marine and Safety Tasmania (MAST) is seeking a skilled and motivated Communications and Marketing Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for leading and delivering a wide range of communication and marketing initiatives that support maritime safety, education, and stakeholder engagement across Tasmania.

About the Role:

As the Communications and Marketing Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering a broad range of communication and marketing activities that support MAST’s strategic objectives.

This dynamic and varied role combines strategic communication with hands-on delivery across digital, print, and community channels. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement communication strategies, publications, and campaigns that enhance MAST’s visibility and stakeholder engagement.
  • Manage digital communications, including MAST’s website and social media platforms.
  • Coordinate the production of various materials, including publications, reports, newsletters, and promotional content.
  • Create high-quality written content, including media releases, editorials, and community updates.
  • Support stakeholder engagement, events, and safety awareness campaigns.

About You:

We are looking for someone with:

  • High-level written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences and platforms.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering communication and marketing strategies, including content creation and campaign delivery.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing websites, social media, and digital engagement tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders, service providers, and the media.

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering communication and marketing strategies, publications, and digital content.
  • Demonstrated experience using online graphic design and publishing tools.
  • High-level written communication skills, including writing, editing, and proofreading for diverse audiences and platforms.
  • Experience in managing publications and promotional materials, and marketing campaigns, including coordinating design, print, and distribution.
  • Proven ability to manage website content and digital communication channels, including social media.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the capacity to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement, while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Current Police Check.
