M004-26 (T) River Derwent – Bridgewater Bridge – Demolition
Mariners are advised that the Leanora Barge will be positioned within the Navigation Channel at the Old Bridgewater Bridge to complete the removal of the Lift Span and Towers of the bridge on Friday, 9 January 2026. The Demolition barge will be manned during working hours, Monday to Saturday, 0700 hours to 1700 hours, and a listening watch on VHF Channel 16 will be maintained.
During this deconstruction work, a prohibited area is declared from 0700 on Friday 9 January 2026 around the bridge, and will remain in place until the deconstruction works are completed and a notice is issued by MAST declaring the prohibited area cancelled. The prohibited area includes the Navigation Channel and is bound by the following coordinates

The prohibited area will be demarcated by yellow lit special marks labelled “Unauthorised Vessels Prohibited”. All vessels and persons are prohibited from navigating within the prohibited area, unless authorised by Hazell Brady Joint Venture.
Regulation 71 of the Marine and Safety (Pilotage and Navigation) Regulations 2017 provides for the declaration of a specified area to be a prohibited area for other vessels or persons.
