M202-26 Navigation Warning – Floating Debris
Mariners are advised that recent heavy rains have washed debris into rivers and estuaries around the State. This debris, often consisting of partly submerged logs, poses a navigation hazard to vessels.
Mariners are also advised that due to the heavy rainfall and runoff from rivers into coastal waters, barways and river mouth entries may change substantially due to moving sand around the Tasmanian Coast, particularly the East Coast.
Mariners are urged to exercise extreme caution when navigating seaward from rivers across barways and estuarine waters under these conditions.
