M204-22 Autonomous Operations Areas
Mariners are advised that the following areas (attached) have been designated as Autonomous Operations Areas (AOA). Operations occurring in these areas may include Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and/or Un-crewed Surface Vessels (USVs), along with accompanying support vessels.
MAST will publish advice notices on the MAST website prior to scheduled activities taking place. These notices will specify the nature of the activities, the relevant area, and the scheduled times, along with details about any support arrangements that will be in place.
Mariners are advised to navigate these areas with caution, maintain a listening watch on VHF channel 16 at all times and monitor MAST notifications as to when autonomous operations will be occurring.
