M289-25 Port of Launceston – Bell Bay – Power Station Demolition – Prohibited Area
Mariners are advised that demolition work will be taking place at the Bell Bay Power Station. For a short period during this demolition work, charges will be used. During this time, a prohibited area will be in force for all waters bounded by an imaginary circle with a radius of 500m and centred on position Latitude 41° 8.583’S, Longitude 146° 54.183’E. This prohibited area will be in effect on Tuesday, 2 September 2025 from 0800 hours to 1200 hours.
All vessels are prohibited from navigating within the prohibited area during this time, unless authorised by Bell Bay VTS. A sentry vessel will be on site to ensure compliance with the prohibited area.
Regulation 71 of the Marine and Safety (Pilotage and Navigation) Regulations 2017 provides for the declaration of a specified area to be a prohibited area for other vessels or persons.
