M310-26 River Tamar – Beauty Point – Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Deployment
Mariners are advised that a 7.6 m autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) will be deployed in the Beauty Point wharf area on Wednesday, 26 August 2026.
The AUV will conduct a series of manoeuvres below the water surface within the deployment area as part of a training exercise. During the deployment, the AUV will surface briefly for less than 10 minutes every 30 minutes to acquire a GPS fix and may also surface unexpectedly.
The standby vessel Niaid will be on site during the deployment, will display Flag Alpha, and will make contact on VHF Channels 14 and 16 with approaching surface vessels as required.
Mariners are requested to navigate with caution in the area.
