M318-26(T) River Tamar – Long Reach and East Arm – Marine Fieldwork

Mariners are advised that the Australian Maritime College will undertake supervised educational marine fieldwork training in the Long Reach and East Arm areas of the River Tamar from Tuesday 1 September to Thursday 10 September 2026 inclusive.

Survey vessels and autonomous marine equipment will operate in the area, with one lit surface wave buoy and two submerged seabed instruments remaining deployed throughout the period.

Operations will be conducted from the FTV Reviresco, with support from the Naiad. During survey operations and equipment deployment or recovery, the FTV Reviresco may be restricted in her ability to manoeuvre. Both vessels will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channels 14 and 16 and will display the appropriate shapes and signals as required.

The following equipment will remain deployed, including overnight, until 10 September 2026:

• Lit yellow wave buoy and mooring assembly, including two smaller unlit surface floats and submerged mooring equipment:
  41°10.481′ S, 146°56.392′ E
• Submerged seabed instrument lander with no surface marker; approximately 0.5 m above seabed:
  41°10.706′ S, 146°56.878′ E / 41°10.656′ S, 146°56.333′ E

Mariners are requested to navigate with caution in the area, minimise wash, and avoid interfering with deployed equipment.
