M338-25(T) Bass Strait – North Coast Tasmania – Monitoring Buoys

Mariners are advised that five water quality monitoring buoys will be installed in the following positions:

  1. 41° 9.828’S           146° 22.644’E
  2. 41° 9.684’S           146° 23.664’E
  3. 41° 3.948’S           146° 20.358’E
  4. 41° 6.546’S           146° 26.292’E
  5. 41° 9.102’S           146° 13.680’E

The buoys are yellow in colour and up to 1.75m in diameter, with a flashing yellow light (Q.Y) visible for 3 nautical miles.

The buoys are being installed from 24 October 2025 and will remain in place until 1 July 2026.

Mariners are advised to navigate with caution and are not permitted to moor to the buoys.
