The registration permit has a change of ownership section on the reverse side. Alternatively, a Change of Ownership – Mooring form can be completed and returned to Service Tasmania or by email to MAST within fourteen (14) days of the sale.
Please ensure that the mooring you are purchasing has a suitable approved vessel length for your vessel. If your vessel is longer than the approved length of the mooring, you must complete a “Variation of Permit” form and lodge with your transfer. Remember that the length is measured to include any appendages to the vessel, such as dinghy davits, bowsprits, duckboards etc.
If the mooring’s approved length is less than your vessel’s overall length, please contact MAST to discuss prior to purchase.
Permits issued after 1 January 2014 are non-transferable. You are only able to purchase the mooring device (weights, cables, chains etc), not the mooring position. You must apply to MAST for the existing mooring position by completing an Application for Registration of Mooring.
Please ensure vessel details including length, beam, draft and vessel type are included in the application. If these details are not provided, or won’t suit the current permit site, MAST may refuse to grant the permit.
It is recommended you contact MAST prior to purchase to ensure the site will be suitable for your vessel.
