Large-scale repairs are considered, but not limited to, the removal of pilothouses, wheelhouses, decks, motors, etc. These repairs are deemed to be of considerable scale and should be conducted on a hard stand or alongside a wharf or jetty. MAST has concerns that projects like these are often initiated by owners but never completed, frequently resulting in the vessel becoming derelict.
Mooring permit holders are permitted to maintain their moored vessels by conducting general maintenance such as sanding, painting and minor repairs whilst the vessel is on the mooring.
If you are planning to undertake a large-scale project on a moored vessel, please contact MAST. We may be able to issue you with written permission to carry out the works within a specified time frame.
